Rebecca Ford first experienced success at age 21 when she landed a full-page cover of the business section of the Montreal Gazette as a young female fashion entrepreneur. Her startup clothing line of premium luxury denim, Luscious, infused sensuality and exuberant youth into her high-end designs for young women.

Rebecca continually evolved with her clientele, branching upward and outward into new forms and fabrics while remaining firmly rooted in the Montreal music and art scene. Out of this niche evolved the dominant boutique-based brand for young women across Canada at the time, Luscious, an edgy, unabashed, and playful collection.

Originally from Canada and having lived abroad as a child in India and Germany, she expanded her boundaries far beyond the North American continent as her clothing line flourished in boutiques in Denmark, England, Switzerland, Sweden, New Zealand, Japan, and the US. Her ability to keep her finger on the pulse produced fresh, beautiful luxurious clothing sold worldwide.

Her contributions to the Canadian fashion industry have been recognized and noted in the McCord-Stewart Museum in Montreal. She was awarded the prestigious Marie Soleil Tougas Award for best new designer year 2000 on the widely televised Griffe d’Ore annual awards show that celebrated the talents and achievements of the Quebec Fashion Industry. In particular, she has been recognized as a young female entrepreneur who launched her multi-million start-up fashion brand, gaining recognition at age 21.

After launching the brand , Luscious quickly became a label of cool girls when the first collection hit the stores and sold out over a weekend. The brand expanded very quickly. Rebecca found a unique way to fuse urban comfort and edgy style with her premium luxury denim collection. Select boutiques in Quebec gave her the initial attention needed to expand the brand, and by 2001, the company had employed 14 people and had reached multiple countries.

Rebecca received her formal higher education at Concordia University in Montreal, studying Art History. Never formally trained in fashion design, this lack of convention gave her the freedom to be truly unique and a trendsetter. Immersing herself in the study of Art History, and the cultural vibrancy of Montreal allowed her to reflect an appreciation of culture, form, and medium in her work.

After an exhilarating decade-long career at the helm of the Luscious brand, she has since retired from the fashion industry. Rebecca currently continues to pursue her passion for design in the area of sustainable landscape design, expressing her vision in the beauty of nature.
